About Us

Pine Crest Dairy, established in 1958, is a family owned and operated dairy and beef farm in Cadillac, Michigan that is currently run by third generation farmer, John Bode, his wife Talli and parents, Don and Sandy Bode.

Today, many people are unaware of where their food comes from and how it is made. Here are some fun facts about our farm:

  • There are 13 full and part-time employees at Pine Crest Dairy.
  • All of our steers are born and raised on the farm, and are finished out antibiotic-free and hormone-free.
  • All of our steers are fed a specific diet ensuring top-quality beef.
  • The cows consume roughly 110 pounds of feed per day and can also drink up to 25 to 40 gallons of water each day.
  • Currently we milk between 180 and 200 cows three times daily.
  • A cow begins producing milk around 24 months after they have their first calf.
  • Our cows have a 2 month rest period before calving.
  • We also currently grow alfalfa, oats, and corn.

Our mission is to produce the highest quality dairy and beef products. We also want to educate individuals on where their food comes from and how it is made. We feel blessed to be able to do what we love for a living.
